At the German Canadian Care Home, our role is to support residents to lead full and meaningful lives. We offer compassionate and respectful support, quality clinical care, and stimulating surroundings, and have recently adopted the well-known Eden approach. This approach focuses on creating environments that promote resident participation in the activities of their daily lives.
We have a dynamic health care team that includes: nurses; care aides; occupational therapists; a physiotherapist; a social worker; a recreational therapist and her assistants; a music therapist; a pastor; a dietitian and an art therapist. They bring their diverse skills, education and talents to support resident independence and well-being. The team also includes a Medical Director who provides medical leadership to other attending physicians and the care team.
The monthly resident rent includes nursing care, meals, housekeeping, laundry, spiritual care, recreation and rehabilitation services. A wide variety of additional services are available and charged separately.
The German Canadian Care Home also encourages participation of residents and their families in a monthly Family Council and Resident Council. These Councils are open to all residents and families and are a forum for sharing, education, and discussion.
